Democrats Gather Supplies For Standing Rock Water Protectors
The Scotts Bluff County Democrats are taking donations of supplies and monetary contributions to help the Standing Rock Dakota pipeline water protectors get through the winter. Supplies will be delivered to North Dakota in mid-December. Monetary donations will be collected and distributed to an appropriate, reputable charitable organization.
Supplies and donations can be dropped off at 1906 Broadway in Scottsbluff through December 9th. Donations will also be accepted at the County Democrats Holiday Party and Meeting on Tuesday, December 6 at Godfathers Pizza in Scottsbluff from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Please contact Stan Kontogiannis at #203-809-1662 if you have questions and to confirm office hours for drop-off.
“The Scotts Bluff County Democrats stand with the Native American community and their fight to protect their peoples, lands and culture at Standing Rock,” said Stan Kontogiannis, chair of the Scotts Bluff County Democrats. “The pipeline would cross the Missouri River at Lake Oahe and a pipeline leak would be disastrous for the drinking water for the reservation and the many communities downstream.”
